I visited Boracay with my eldest child Jakob who is nearly 7 years old. It was part of our summer bonding. As Jakob is getting to be very curious child, I make sure that he enjoys as much as he can. Bringing Jakob to Boracay is my way of sharing to him my own happy memories as a child. I was in the same age when I first visited Boracay with my parents. I still have vivid mental pictures of what the island was in the 1970s. It has a lone resort, there was no electricity, no fast food or night clubs and best of all- no irritating vendors with expensive souvenirs. I also remember that there were two German tourists at the resort who shocked our party with their naked glory. They did not mind just like the other tourists during the 1970s and 1980s. It was during the 1990s when sunbathing nude in Boracay has become extinct. As i was driving towards Caticlan, I was crossing my fingers that Jakob's Boracay escapade will turn out fine. All my best wishes came through when I was met with a good sunny weather, a calm sea and a nearly deserted island. Jakob could not be more surprised and mesmerized by the white sand beaches and the clear waters which stretched from Stations 1 to 3. I was also surprised to see no seaweeds on the white beach making it nearly picture perfect. God is indeed so good to give Jakob the Boracay scene I used to know.
